Accountancy giants EY has appointed Michael Solender as global vice chair and general counsel to implement a global reorganization of the EY legal function and integrate EY\'s internal legal operations worldwide.

Mr Solender had since 2009 served as EY\'s Americas vice chair and general counsel, as well as general counsel of Ernst & Young in the US. Before that, he served as general counsel for firms including the Bear Stearns Companies Inc., and of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
