Facebook’s chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, and his paediatrician wife, Dr Priscilla Chan, have pledged to invest at least $3 billion over the next decade to fund medical research.
The couple, who are parents to daughter Maxima, told a press conference in San Francisco yesterday (21/09/2016) that their goal was to “cure, prevent or manage all diseases by the end of the century”. The announcement was also screened digitally to an audience of 63,000 via Facebook Live.
