HMRC has launched a marriage allowance calculator earlier this week for couples who are married or in a civil partnership to determine whether they can reduce their annual income tax bill.

The calculator can be used to input information on region and both partner's income to determine whether they are eligible for up to £252 in annual tax reductions which can also be backdated for the previous four years for a potential total reduction of just over £1000.
