IHT receipts climb by a further £400 million

HMRC has released figures showing that the HM Treasury raked in £6.8 billion in inheritance tax (IHT) receipts in the eleven months from April 2023 to February 2024. This is £400 million more than in the same period a year earlier.

Previously, HMRC revealed it took £5.2 billion in the eight months from April 2023 to November 2023 from IHT. This increased to £5.7 billion in December and then £6.3 billion in January 2024.
