The Jamaican government and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a Double Taxation Agreement (DTA), to prevent taxpayers paying twice.
It is hoped the move will allow for the free flow of international trade or cross-border transactions and investments.
It will also offer clarification of taxing rights of each state and help prevent fiscal evasion with anti-avoidance provisions.
