New figures from HMRC have seen land and property stamp taxes (SDLT) receipts decrease by three percent from £11.94 billion to £11.6 billion between 2018 to 2019 and 2019 to 2020.
During this period, residential SDLT receipts have stayed broadly flat, increasing by only one percent from £8.37 billion to £8.42 billion.
London accounted for the majority of SDLT receipts in 2019 to 2020, £4.4 billion or 38 percent of total SDLT receipts. The same as in 2018 to 2019.
