Law Commission to launch public consultation on pre-nups

The Law Commission is expected this week to announce a major consultation on pre-nuptial agreements that may pave the way for a change in law that gives separation agreements legal status.
 
Anne Kay, family law expert at law firm Boodle Hatfield said: “The Law Commission first started to look at prenuptial agreements back in 2009, but has been waiting on the outcome of the Supreme Court’s decision on the Radmacher case, where it was asked to look at the validity of a prenuptial agreement."
