Protectors: powers of control

Settlors often choose to appoint protectors in order to provide some control over the exercise of the trustees\' powers. However, careful thought should be given to ensure that the protector\'s role is understood and consistent with the settlor\'s overall objectives for the trust structure. It will also be helpful to consider how the protector will be able to exercise his powers, and what role the courts might have.  This article focuses on three questions:
