Former Chancellor Sajid Javid would have slashed Income Tax by 2p if he had delivered his Budget.
In an interview with The Times, the Conservative MP explained he had planned to reduce the basic rate of Income Tax to 18p, with the intention of further reducing it to 15p by the end of this Parliament.
However, before he was able to follow through with these plans he resigned as Chancellor and was replaced by Rishi Sunak.
