Top 25 accountancy firm Baker Tilly has warned taxpayers of the need to be vigilant ahead of the end of the tax year at the start of April.
Gary Heynes, head of private client at Baker Tilly, said that with Easter early this year, the tax year effectively ends on 2 April, being the last working day before 5 April. At the same Mr Heynes said that with the impending General Election in May, some reliefs may be taken away or reduced next year if there is a change in government, making pre-tax year-end tax planning more important this year than ever.
