UK High Court rejects bid to lift the ban on heterosexuals entering into civil partnerships

The UK High Court has rejected the bid by Rebecca Steinfeld and Charles Keidan to lift the ban on heterosexual couples entering into civil partnerships.

The couple had wanted to enter into a civil partnership as  it "focuses on equality" but the Civil Partnership Act of 2004 states that only couples with "two people of the same sex" are eligible.
