The US has called on the OECD to suspend the international tax system that is currently being instigated.
This came to light after a letter from the OECD secretary general, to the US Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, was made public.
The letter exposed the US’ fears as to how the new tax system will “have a discriminatory impact on U.S.-based businesses”.
It also revealed the US has asked for some of the proposals to be reformed so that they are optional rather than mandatory.
