West Midlands fraudsters lived lavish lifestyle on £1.3m of taxpayer cash

A Lego-loving fraudster has been convicted of stealing £1.3 million of taxpayers’ cash.

Fictitious transport firm boss Lee Hickinbottom of Wolverhampton Street, Dudley, conspired with his 34-year-old former partner, Tabatha Knott, of Bennett Avenue, Dudley, to submit fraudulent VAT repayment claims to HMRC between 2014 and 2017.
