Which lawyers count as key workers?

Keeping the justice system running during the Covid-19 crisis has been deemed vital by the UK government, meaning certain legal practitioners have been defined as “key workers”.

The Ministry of Justice has stated the following practitioners fall into this key worker category:

  • Advocates (including solicitor advocates) required to appear before a court or tribunal (remotely or in person), including prosecutors.
  • Legal practitioners required to support the administration of justice including duty solicitors (police station and court) and barristers, solicitors, legal executives, paralegals and others ...
