Women who accompanied husband to Dignitas allowed to keep his £1.8 million estate

A British woman who went with her husband to Swiss euthanasia clinic Dignitas will be allowed to inherit his £1.8 million estate, the High Court ruled.

Sarah Ninian, 63, travelled with her 83 year-old husband Alex to the Swiss-assisted suicide clinic in November 2017 after he was diagnosed with a terminal disease and was unable to reach the clinic alone.

Ms Ninian was named as the sole beneficiary of his estate, but could have been bloked from receiving it due to laws barring inheritence when a beneficiary has been involved in a person's "unlawful killing".
