Additional rate taxpayer numbers set to increase by 77 percent

New data from HMRC has revealed that there are 77 percent more additional rate taxpayers projected for 2022/2023 than there were in 2016/2017, and 49 percent more than in 2019/2020.

Higher and additional rate taxpayers are projected to make up 18 percent of all taxpayers in 2022/2023, compared to just 13 percent in 2019/2020 and 16 percent in 2015/2016.
