CGT receipts more than double in five years

The number of annual Capital Gains Tax (CGT) receipts has risen over 100 percent in the last five years, according to the latest monthly tax figures released by HMRC.

HMRC has collected a record £18.0 billion across February 2022-January 2023 (vs £8.9 billion February 2018- January 2019) – the latter is also an increase of 18 percent compared to the 12 months prior.
