Divorce widens pension pay gap - research

Family law firm Stowe Family Law has revealed the impact divorce has on increasing gender pension gaps.

The gender pension gap is estimated to be over twice the size of the gender pay gap.

At the beginning of a woman’s career, the gender pension gap starts at 17 percent, reaching 56 percent at retirement.

Women’s retirement wealth averages only one third of men’s.
