Establishing a purpose for setting up a family office is vital, says KPMG head of family office

The first step when working with clients who are setting up their own family office is establishing what the purpose of their family office is, according to Catherine Grum, head of family office services at KPMG.

“Trying to strip back and spend more time with clients, really understand and identify their purpose is incredibly valuable but can be quite challenging,” she told attendees at the 2018 eprivateclient Law Dinner held at The Goring Hotel in London last week (13 November 2018).
