Every £1 spent on HMRC investigations into wealthy individuals now yields £30 in extra tax

HMRC brought in an extra £30 in tax for every pound spent on investigations into wealthy individuals in the year to 31 March 2023, up from £28 for every pound in 2021/22, according to multinational law firm Pinsent Masons.

The research also found HMRC’s large business directorate (LBD) has the highest yield per pound spent by far at £58, up from £56 the previous year.
