Former Man Utd boss sentenced to a year in jail by Spanish court over tax fraud

The former manager of English Premier League side Manchester United, José Mourinho, has accepted a prison term for tax fraud in Spain.

A Spanish court ruled that the Portuguese football coach will however not go to jail as part of a one-year prison sentence but will pay a fine of EUR182,500 on top of a separate fine of EUR2 million. 

The fine follows accusations by Spanish prosecutors that the former Real Madrid coach had evaded  EUR3.3 million (£2.9 million) in taxes from 2011 to 2012.
