HMRC confirms date for expanded trust register

HMRC has confirmed the expanded Trust Register Service (TRS) will come into effect 1st September.

From then, “express trusts” will have around a year to register. This is likely to affect wills, probate, property and pensions.

Anything that’s considered an “express trust” – whether it is taxable or not – will need to be registered. Unless it fits into one of the few exclusions.
