IHT tax receipts rise 10pc year-on-year

Inheritance tax (IHT) receipts for April 2022 to May 2022 were £1.1 billion - £0.1 billion higher than the same period a year earlier. 

Julia Rosenbloom, tax partner at Evelyn Partners, believes the rise in IHT receipts will continue. 

"Forecasting produced by the Office for Budget Responsibility earlier in 2022, suggests this upward trend will continue and that the Treasury will receive £37 billion in IHT payments over the next five years.
