Jeremy Corbyn’s promise to make this election campaign the most radical yet is coming to fruition with the launch of Labour’s manifesto, which includes significant changes to the UK tax system.
It’s arguably not surprising that the “complex” Inheritance Tax (IHT) is one of the areas Labour has pledged to amend. The Office of Tax Simplification (OTS) has already been looking to reform IHT.
The manifesto states Labour will reverse George Osborne’s cuts to IHT, which are “most likely benefit high income and wealthier households,” according to Treasury analysis cited in a Labour funding document.
