The Law Society of Scotland has made changes to its Practice Rules, which should provide solicitors with more clarity on their requirements for anti-money laundering compliance and society interactions.
Effective 3 May 2019, the new rules coincide with the creation of a new Law Society anti-money laundering sub-committee, which will be responsible for prompt and proper handling of non-compliance with the new practice rules cases.
