Offshore account info exchange may lead to investigations by HMRC

The details of thousands of offshore accounts provided to HMRC as part of tax evasion prevention may lead to criminal and civil investigations.

According to chartered accountants  Blick Rothenberg LLP, as part of the first exchange of financial data under the UK Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, details of thousands of offshore accounts were given to HMRC on Friday (30/09/2016).
