The size of the divorce and separation market has been estimated as £500 million each year by Resolution, which represents 6,500 family justice professionals, yet there are currently only 42 financial adviser specialists accredited in family law.

A report published by the organisation and authored by a group of financial advisers and planners, states that there is one financial adviser for every 5,000 people that divorce each year, suggesting a growing need for specialist financial advisers.
