Over 100 professional footballers face ruin over HMRC clampdown on investment schemes - report

Over 100 footballers - including household names and current Premier League players - face financial ruin after demands from HMRC for unpaid tax on avoidance schemes, according to the Guardian newspaper.

According to the paper, more than 100 footballers are understood to have sought help from the players’ union, the Professional Footballers’ Association.
