Shakira agrees to £15 million settlement in Spanish tax fraud case

Colombian singer Shakira Ripoll, known simply as Shakira, has agreed to settle in a Spanish tax fraud case in a deal totalling millions of Euros.

She is set to pay a total of EUR17.5 million (£15.32 million), an amount composed of the taxes she owed plus interest as well as a fine of EUR7.3 million (£6.39 million), according to a statement.

Under the deal, Ms Ripoll also agreed to a three-year suspended sentence.
