SRA takeover of CLIEX members' regulation faces pushback

The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives' (CILEX) plan for the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to take over regulation of its members could be derailed. 

The CILEX has held formal talks with the SRA to explore a possible transfer of the regulation of 20,000 members.

However, it has been reported that the regulatory arm of CILEX - CILEX Independent Regulation (CRL) – has objected to the plan.
