The UK government updated its sanctions targeting Russia. The updated regulations now prohibit the provision of trust services to or for the benefit of persons designated for the purposes of this measure, and the provision of trust services to or for the benefit of persons connected with Russia.
Central and East England law firm Howes Percival strengthened its team in Cambridge with the appointment of Stephen Parch as a partner and head of its private client team in the area. Mr Parch joined Howes Percival from Shoosmiths where he led the high net worth division of its private client operation based in Milton Keynes.

KPMG UK appointed Stuart Bedford as its new UK head of law. Mr Bedford is set to join the firm from Linklaters and will succeed Nick Roome, who has led KPMG’s UK law practice since 2015 and has now been promoted to take on a global focused role, concentrating on growing KPMG’s global legal solutions.
The value of donations given to charities worth over £1 million, through wills, jumped 13 percent in the last year from £800 million to £900 million, research by private wealth law firm Boodle Hatfield found. Donations of £1 million or more made up 56 percent of the total of £1.6 billion in gifts made to charities upon death.

2022 eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 Lauren Harzo joined Barclays Private Bank as a relationship director. She joined from Zedra - a provider of corporate services, active wealth and fund solutions- after nearly four years at the firm. Most recently she was a client manager and prior to that she was an assistant trust manager.
