UK property values have risen by 9.3% every year since 1972

UK properties have increased by £4,582 every year since 1972, according to research by property developer Stripe Property Group.

The research revealed that in 1972, the average UK property price was £5,158, which once adjusted for inflation equates to £49,333 by today’s standards.

Today, UK homebuyers are paying an average price of £278,436.

This is an increase of 464 percent, with house prices climbing 9.3 percent, or £4,582, every year over the last 50 years.
