European investment company Euronext has submitted an indicative offer to acquire fund data platform Allfunds.
The offer is in the region of £4.84 billion.
In a statement, Euronext said this offer is conditional, among other things, on reaching agreement with existing largest shareholders in Allfunds.
The offer is currently under consideration by the board of Allfunds but Euronext stressed there is no certainty that this will lead to an offer being made.
