Another robo-adviser shuts up shop

The robo-advice firm founded by Brooks Macdonald’s former investment strategy head has announced it will close in February.

Moola, founded in 2015 by investment manager and journalist Gemma Godfrey, is one of a number of digital wealth managers forced to close over the past 18 months.

Moola was bought by employee benefits consultancy Jardine Lloyd Thompson Employee Benefits (JLT) in 2018. Ms Godfrey resigned from the business in 2019. She was the head of investment strategy at Brooks Macdonald between 2012 and 2015, and is presently the editor of The Times’ Money Mentor website.
