UK private bank Hampden & Co appointed Gill Sanders as a banking director.

Before joining Hampden & Co, Ms Sanders spent over 20 years with Scottish private bank Adam & Co, most recently as an associate director. Prior to that, she had been a relationship manager.

In her new role, Ms Sanders will focus on giving clients a bespoke banking service including deposits, borrowing and day-to-day banking.

Evelyn Partners appointed Hayley Jarvis as a financial planner to its Chelmsford office as part of its continued expanson in the South East of England.

Ms Jarvis joined the firm from Essex-based financial planners Forrester-Hyde.

As a chartered financial planner, Ms Jarvis will work with private clients and business owners to plan for business continuity, exit, and the intergenerational transfer of wealth.

She also provides financial education to families, young adults, and those starting out on their financial journeys.

Evelyn Partners appointed Austin Flood as a financial planner in its Guildford office as it continues its expansion in the South East of England.

Mr Flood joined from Bespoke Independent Financial Advisers where he spent four years as a financial adviser.

He joined Evelyn Partners’ office in Guildford, which offers financial services including investment management, investment advisory, and financial planning.

Connection Capital, a specialist private client investment business, hired Peter Knight as head of its new co-investments team, as appetite to invest in direct private equity and venture co-investment opportunities increases.

Mr Knight joined the firm from Legal & General Capital where he was a senior investment manager, covering private equity, private debt, housing and infrastructure transactions.

Before this, he worked within the asset management division and later moved into the private assets division.

At Connection Capital, Mr Knight will be responsible for leading and developing the co-investments capability.

Arbuthnot Latham appointed Sir Nigel Boardman as its chairman.

He has been an independent non executive director (NED) since June 2019 and was named deputy chairman in January 2022.

Sir Nigel was a partner at Slaughter and May from 1982 to 2019.

He is a non-executive director at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). He is on the board of the British Museum and is chair of charity Help for Heroes. [Read more]

Wealth advisory firm Artorius appointed James Goddard, Helena Pratt and Max Di Lieto to its client team, all from UBS.

Mr Goddard and Ms Pratt will be client partners and Mr Di Lieto will be a client manager.

Prior to joining Artorius, Mr Goddard spent nearly 12 years at UBS as client adviser. He also worked at Barclays for four years as private banking executive. [Read more]

Deutsche Bank appointed Nuno Filipe Tarrana de Sousa as deputy UK chief operating officer (COO) of its international private bank (IPB).

Joining the UK’s wealth management team as a director, he will take on the deputy COO role when Gary Tritton retires at the end of the year.

He will report to Paul Chapman, UK COO of the IPB.

Mr Tarrana de Sousa was previously COO at Saranac Partners, where he also held Senior Manager Function 3 (SMF 3) responsibility for legal, compliance, risk, technology, operations and human resources.

Credit Suisse’s UK senior team underwent yet more changes, following a flurry of senior leavers.

thewealthnet understands current managing director Rusty Elvidge resigned from his role.

Mr Elvidge was at the firm for over 27 years and was a managing director in the private bank since 2010.

There was also a new joiner at Credit Suisse.

Giovanni Revedin di San Martino started as a managing director earlier this week (01/08/2022), working in the UK ultra-high net worth team. [Read more]

Etienne d’Arenberg stepped down as an equity partner and head of UK wealth management at Mirabaud Group.

Having spent 22 years with Mirabaud, he was a partner since 2011. Since joining the group in 1999, he developed a significant portfolio of private clients who appreciate his strong investment convictions, and his holistic approach to assessing their environment.

Mr d’Arenberg joined Mirabaud from Creditanstalt Investment Bank in Vienna where he managed the private equity and investment fund divisions.

He left the firm to focus fully on his family and his family business interests.

Citi Private Bank appointed John Williams as a director and head of UK wealth planning.

Based in London, Mr Williams will report to Robert Stemmons, head of trust & wealth planning, EMEA.

In this role, he will work with UK-based bankers, investment counsellors and other product specialists to deliver a bespoke wealth planning service.

He will work with clients, their families and professional advisers to develop and implement these plans. [Read more]
