Three major central banks have all hiked interest rates by 0.5 percentage points. This brings interest rates to 3.5 percent in the UK, the European Central Bank’s (ECB) rates to 2.0 percent, and the US Federal Reserve rates to 4.5 percent.
These moves were largely expected by markets and represent a slowing of rate hikes by central banks, with all three having raised rates by 0.75 percentage points previously.
