Barclays chief executive Jes Staley is stepping down following an investigation into his links with the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, the finds of which he contests.
Mr Staley is leaving his role following the preliminary conclusions from the FCA and the PRA of their investigation into Mr Staley's characterisation to Barclays of his relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein.
As Mr Staley plans to contest these findings, he has agreed that to step down from his role and as a director of Barclays.
