BoE commits to 'higher for longer' narrative on interest rates

The Bank of England (BoE) may have followed in the US Federal Reserve’s footsteps in maintaining interest rates, but it was much more cautious about committing to rate hikes in the near future.

The BoE’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) maintained base rates at 5.25 percent in its most recent decision (14/12/2023).
