BoE 'talks the talk' but actions are limited

After voting unanimously to leave the bank rate unchanged at 0.10 percent, some wealth managers have suggested that “the Bank of England likes to talk the talk, but it doesn’t much like to act”.

The BoE also decided to maintain the stock target purchases for corporate bond at £20 billion in a unanimous vote and for gilts at £875 billion in a 7:1 vote.

A new set of economic forecasts were released. 2021 annual GDP is still expected to be 7.1 percent unchanged from previously, but 2021 headline CPI is now anticipated to be 4 percent, up from 2.5 percent expected in May.
