Brooks Macdonald appoints new chair as Chris Knight steps aside

Brooks Macdonald has appointed Alan Carruthers as its new group chairman.

Current chair Chris Knight is retiring on 14 March after 14 years in the role.

Mr Carruthers has held a series of directorships at top-tier firms since the late 1980s, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Cazenove, and JP Morgan. He is currently the chairman of Numis Securities.

Mr Carruthers has also held recent directorships at McLean Advisory, and St Catherine's School Bramley, both of which he has now resigned.
