Coutts launches multi-currency card in 'world first'

Coutts has launched a new multi-currency debit card in a bid to better serve its international client base, thewealthnet can reveal.

In what the bank believes to be a global first, it has partnered with Visa to enable clients with various currency accounts to conduct all transactions from one existing debit card.

The multi-currency card removes foreign-exchange charges by automatically taking payment from the relevant currency account based on a client’s geographical location at that time. Currently this covers 20 major currencies and more than 38 countries.
