Credit Suisse chief executive Tidjane Thiam is quitting following a spying scandal that has dogged the Swiss bank for six months.
In a statement this morning, the Credit Suisse board said it had unanimously accepted Mr Tidjane’s resignation, while throwing its support behind chairman Urs Rohner.
Mr Tidjane will be succeeded by Thomas Gottstein, a 21-year veteran of the bank and its Swiss head.
