Good gracious, have you noticed how top executives are suddenly dropping like flies at a number of the big banks which have significant private banking businesses? It's as if financial Covid-19 is spreading through private banking.

In fact, is a sea change underway in the type of executive now deemed to be appropriate at the top of these companies, one must ask?  Certainly, the new generation of bank leaders seem to be a remarkably sober and rather unexciting lot. 

Charisma and excitement is out, bean-counting and technology prowess seems to be in.
