FCA fines highest in six years

An end of year surge has seen FCA fines increase to £577 million this year, up from £156 million last year, the highest value of fines since 2015.

The increase in fines in 2021 was dominated by four large fines of over £50 million. Last year saw just one fine issued over this amount.
