FCA to hire 80 to shut down ‘problem firms’

The FCA has launched a three-year strategy aimed at improving outcomes for consumers in UK markets.

This will include new resources focused on outcomes to prevent serious harm, set higher standards and promote competition.

Additionally, 80 new roles created to shut down problem firms, which do not meet basic regulatory standards.

For the first time, the regulator said it will hold itself accountable against published outcomes and performance metrics.
