FCA urges companies to delay preliminary results amid crisis

The FCA has requested companies delay publishing their preliminary financial statements for at least two weeks, to avoid investors receiving irrelevant information.

On Saturday night (21 March), the regulator wrote to companies it is aware were intending to publish preliminary financial statements in the next few days, urging them to delay their planned publications.

The "unprecedented" recent events mean that the basis on which companies are reporting and planning is changing rapidly, the regulator said.
