GDP data shows 'spluttering' recovery

The UK’s latest GDP data shows the engine of recovery is “still spluttering”, wealth managers have warned.

GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.6 percent in September 2021 but remains 0.6 percent below its pandemic level of February 2020.

Services output grew by 0.7 percent in September 2021 as human health activities grew by 6.4 percent, mainly because of a large rise in face-to-face appointments at GP surgeries in England.
