Gender pay gap for those earning over £1 million reaches 87 percent - research

The gender pay gap between men and women earning over £1 million reached 87 percent in the last year (2015-16 is the most recent data available from HMRC), with just 2,200 women in this income bracket, compared with 16,800 men, according to financial adviser Salisbury House Wealth.

Gender diversity is increasingly recognised as an issue by the Government and boards, with new mandatory reporting regulations requiring large businesses to publicly disclose their gender pay gap.
