HSBC Private Bank has hired bankers from a number of its rivals in order to push further into the Asian ultra high net worth (UHNW) sector.

Gabriel Tam becomes regional head of UHNW Solutions in Asia.  Erik Bergqvist has been appointed head of UHNW Segment Management, to develop and deliver HSBC Private Banking’s UHNW proposition and client experience.

Siew Meng Tan, regional head of HSBC Private Banking, Asia Pacific stated, “We are developing a unique proposition for our UHNW clients and family offices, many of whom have derived significant wealth from their businesses.”
