HSBC Private Bank appoints Asia Pacific COO

HSBC has appointed Sharon Oh as chief operating officer for its Asia Pacific private banking division.

Ms Oh, who joins 20 May, replaces Gaurav Rao, who recently relocated to London to become global head of business architecture at the private bank.

As HSBC looks to grow its private banking business in Asia, Ms Oh will lead the regional COO teams as they look to deliver several initiatives in 2020 and 2021 including a new core banking platform and enhanced digital offerings.  

She will report to Siew Meng Tan, regional head of Asia Pacific and Anil Venuturupalli, global COO.
